About M. Tremblay — Our NorthStar Bets Reviewer
Who I am
M. Tremblay is a byline. The pseudonym is deliberate: I still deposit my own cash into the products I cover on this site, and I’d rather affiliate managers not know which test account is mine when a withdrawal lands on their queue. What I will share — I’m based in British Columbia, I’ve been a recreational casino and sportsbook player for about a decade, and iGaming reviewing for Canadians outside Ontario has been my main writing beat for the last few years.
Skip the hype biography. I’m not an ex-pit-boss, there’s no maths degree behind me, and nobody here is going to promise you edge over the house. Just a Canadian player who takes notes during sessions and keeps receipts on payouts.
How I test operators
Every review here begins the same way: a real account, a real deposit. Usually C$100 to C$200 via Interac e-Transfer, pulled from a personal Canadian bank account. No demo balances, no comped chips, no press-kit screenshots dressed up as testing.
A typical session runs 30 to 90 minutes — some slots, a stretch on live dealer tables, and the sportsbook where the brand offers one. Three things get a stopwatch:
- Interac payout speed — from the moment I hit “withdraw” to the moment the funds land in my bank app.
- KYC turnaround — how long verification takes once documents are submitted, and whether the operator asks for anything unusual.
- App and site stability — crashes, disconnects during live dealer hands, and any laggy behaviour on mid-range Android hardware.
Most sessions end in the red. That’s how casino maths works and I’m not going to pretend otherwise. Nothing on this site promises a guaranteed win, and if you find a reviewer anywhere who does, close the tab.
What I focus on
My beat: Kahnawake-licensed .com products available to Canadian players outside Ontario. On this site, “NorthStar Bets” means the international, Kahnawà:ke-licensed version of the brand. For the full hands-on breakdown on bonuses, banking flow and app behaviour, jump to our hands-on Kahnawake review.
A quick geo note. Ontario readers, this isn’t your version — AGCO-licensed platforms are the correct route inside the province, not the .com brand I write about. Everything here is aimed at the rest of the country: BC, Alberta, the Prairies, Quebec, and the Atlantic provinces.
Honesty & independence
Affiliate disclosure. This site earns commissions from operators when a reader signs up through a tracked link and plays. That’s how the lights stay on. What commissions do not do: change our ratings, reorder the operators, or soften what we write about payouts, KYC friction, or bonus terms. If a Kahnawake site is slow to pay, I’ll say so — even when we get paid on every click that goes through it.
Age gate. Online gambling in Canada is 19+ where applicable (18+ in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec). Under the legal age in your province? This site isn’t for you.
Responsible gaming. The products I cover can hurt people when they’re used the wrong way. Deposit limits, loss limits, session timers, self-exclusion — these aren’t optional extras. They’re the reason recreational play stays recreational. If gambling has stopped being fun for you, stop and reach out to a provincial support line. More on that in the responsible-gaming section linked at the top.
How to reach us
Media queries, factual corrections and takedown requests go to the site owner through the contact procedure described in our Privacy Policy. A personal email or phone number isn’t published anywhere, and I don’t take DMs on social. The site owner triages everything and forwards what needs a reviewer’s attention.
